Bayside Council is hosting two free information sessions to help provide residents with practical legal knowledge and a basic understanding of rights and responsibilities as part of Law Week 2026.
Eastgardens Library will host a Planning Ahead session Monday 18 May from 10:30am to 12noon.
This session will be presented by the Seniors Rights Service. The Senior's Rights Service has been supporting older people with legal advice, advocacy and information for 40 years.
This presentation will cover wills, power of attorney, guardianship and advance care directives, with a question time at the end.
Rockdale Library will host an Introduction to Australian Law on Thursday 21 May from 10:30am to 12noon.
Presented by Legal Aid this session covers how laws are made, who makes the law and some of the laws that you might need to know about. Legal Aid NSW started in 1979 and provides statewide legal advice, representation and information.
This session will run in conjunction with one of the Rockdale Library beginner English class sessions. All are welcome to attend.
