Leeton will slip into its finest vintage style this July, as the Australian Art Deco Festival Leeton returns from Friday 10 July to Sunday 12 July 2026.
Presented by Leeton Shire Council, the Festival is Australia's largest celebration of Art Deco culture, bringing heritage, music, fashion, food, markets, vintage vehicles, performances and a generous dose of Riverina hospitality to one of regional Australia's most distinctive towns.
For one winter weekend, Leeton's streets, venues, and historic buildings become part of the show. Locals and visitors are invited to step into the era rather than simply admire it from the footpath. Dress up and enjoy a program that celebrates the grit, design, and optimism of the 1910s-1940s.
Deputy Mayor and Portfolio Lead for Arts & Culture, Cr Michael Kidd, said the Festival had become a distinctive winter drawcard for Leeton.
"The Australian Art Deco Festival Leeton is a wonderful expression of Leeton's character. It celebrates the style, spirit, and heritage of our town in a way that feels distinctly Leeton," Cr Kidd said. "It brings people into our streets, our venues, and local businesses, and gives visitors a wonderful reason to discover Leeton at its most welcoming."
Across the three-day program, visitors can expect a weekend rich with vintage style and local colour. Think guided heritage experiences by day, lively markets and vintage motoring in the heart of town, creative workshops, elegant dining, music, theatre and after-dark moments made for polished shoes and a little sparkle. The program has been designed for both dedicated Art Deco lovers and curious first-timers looking for a winter escape with personality.
The festival also offers visitors a rare chance to experience Leeton's Art Deco streetscape as a living backdrop. From the restored beauty of the Roxy Theatre to the town's distinctive interwar buildings, Leeton's architecture gives the weekend its sense of place and authenticity. This is not a theme dropped onto a town, it belongs here.
Events Coordinator, Fran Macdonald, said the whole-of-town atmosphere was part of the festival's appeal. "Whether you come for the fashion, the music, the history, the food, or simply the excuse to wear something fabulous, you will find a warm welcome in Leeton," she said.
Visitors are encouraged to plan ahead, book early, and explore the full program before travelling. Some events are ticketed, while others are free or available to enjoy across the festival weekend.
