Live Life In Colour At Georges River Seniors Festival

Georges River Council

Georges River Council is celebrating the NSW Seniors Festival 2026 from 2 to 15 March 2026. Council's local Seniors Festival brings together older residents to enjoy an exciting program of activities in the Georges River area.

This year's theme is 'Live Life In Colour'. It recognises our vibrant Georges River seniors community.

The main event of the Festival is the Georges River Seniors Expo, to be held on Wednesday 4 March 2026 from 10.00am to 2.00pm. A free event, it connects seniors with local services, community groups and support organisations. The Expo is being held at Mortdale Community Centre for the first time. It will include:

  • Live performances.

  • Information sessions and workshops.

  • Health checks.

  • Fun and interactive activities.

Free lunch and refreshments will also be available. The event is open to seniors, families, carers and friends.

Council is also committed to inclusion and ease of access with the Expo offering:

  • Wheelchair‑accessibility.

  • Accessible toilets.

  • Designated accessible parking spaces.

  • Flat, easy access throughout the event space.

A free shuttle service will be available between Oatley train station and Mortdale Community Centre from 9.30am to 2.30pm.

The Seniors Expo is part of a broader two-week program of Seniors Festival activities. This includes:

  • Tech Savvy Seniors Sessions.

  • Get Crafty: Watercolour Landscapes for Seniors.

  • Community Grants and Micro Grants Information Session for Seniors.

  • Baby Explorers: Grandparents Day.

  • Community Cyber-Safe Workshop.

Georges River Council Mayor Elise Borg said, "Our Seniors Festival program encourages the older members of our community to connect with each other and the services available to them.

"We've also made sure the Expo is accessible and inclusive, also adding a free shuttle service to provide more transport options and help make the day as easy and enjoyable as possible.

"I encourage our seniors to enjoy what the program has to offer and celebrate the many ways to live life in colour in Georges River."
