Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) is home to some of the greatest scientific breakthroughs of the century - from fusion ignition and exascale computing to monolithic telescopes. But thanks to LLNL's Innovation and Partnerships Office (IPO), those breakthroughs don't remain inside the fence.
"We connect cutting-edge science with real-world applications, empowering businesses to thrive while advancing the United States' technological edge," said IPO Director Matthew Garrett. "IPO identifies economic opportunities, protects LLNL intellectual property, and transfers it to the private sector through licensing and partnerships."
Now, industry, academia and government agencies can engage even more easily with LLNL through IPO's new website, which showcases inventions available for licensing and collaboration, as well as the Laboratory's unique scientific capabilities and state-of-the-art facilities available for use in validating or testing industry technology.
The site is intended as an enhanced gateway to collaboration for new and existing partners. Visitors can browse through the 10 available portfolios of technology, read success stories, learn about the technology transfer journey, watch webinars about specific LLNL technologies and more.
"National security has always been at the core of what LLNL is," Garrett said. "Technology transfer from our national labs to the broader economy is an essential part of that mission. Together, we can shape the future of science & industry."
