Deputy Premier, Minister for State Development, Infrastructure and Planning and Minister for Industrial Relations The Honourable Jarrod Bleijie
  • Logan to benefit from Crisafulli Government's landmark $2 billion Residential Activation Fund.
  • Residential Activation Fund to deliver $30 million towards two critical infrastructure projects set to unlock 8,250 new homes.
  • At least half of the $2 billion Residential Activation Fund dedicated to fast-tracking regional housing projects.
  • Queenslanders have now seen 10 months of delivering under the Crisafulli Government, after 10 years of decline under Labor.

A further 8,250 new homes will be unlocked in Logan with critical infrastructure projects set to be fast-tracked under the Crisafulli Government's landmark $2 billion Residential Activation Fund.

The Crisafulli Government has today announced funding under the Residential Activation Fund (RAF) will support the construction of two critical infrastructure projects in Logan which will unlock 8,250 new homes.

The Residential Activation Fund will deliver a $20 million boost towards a $61.3 million development in the Flagstone Priority Development Area (PDA) which is set to unlock 3,350 new homes.

The Fund will also deliver a $10 million boost towards the $20 million Yarrabilba Dollarbird Drive Intersection which is set to unlock 4,900 new homes in the Yarrabilba PDA.

Under the former Labor Government, housing lot approvals slumped by 29 per cent, leading to record-low rental vacancy rates and a skyrocketing social housing waitlist across Queensland.

Today's announcement comes just months after the Deputy Premier Jarrod Bleijie and Logan City Council Mayor Jon Raven announced the first RAF project which delivered $136 million towards a critical wastewater treatment plant to unlock more than 20,000 new homes as part of Logan's Local Infrastructure Plan.

The $2 billion RAF has received 178 submissions – 64 from South East Queensland and 114 from regional, rural and remote Queensland.

The Crisafulli Government's 2025-26 Budget is delivering up to $1 billion for round one of the RAF, doubled from the original $500 million, in response to the overwhelming support and availability of shovel-ready projects.

Round one funding focuses on the construction of critical trunk infrastructure needed such as water supply, sewerage, stormwater, and roads needed to unlock new residential developments and ease Labor's Housing Crisis.

The $2 billion RAF is a key pillar of the Crisafulli Government's Securing Our Housing Foundations Plan and is breaking down the barriers for infill and greenfield developments.

The Fund will deliver a place to call home for more Queenslanders and support one million new homes by 2044 with at least 50 per cent of the overall funding to be invested in regional and remote Queensland.

Deputy Premier and Minister for State Development, Infrastructure and Planning, Jarrod Bleijie, said the Residential Activation Fund was set to unlock thousands of new homes across Queensland.

"The Crisafulli Government's landmark $2 billion Residential Activation Fund is reversing Labor's Housing Crisis after the former Government oversaw Queensland having the lowest rate of home ownership in the country," Deputy Premier Bleijie said.

"Through the RAF, we are giving more Queenslanders a place to call home sooner.

"I'm excited to announced that the RAF will unlock a further 8,250 new homes in Logan just months after the Crisafulli Government delivered a $135.98 million boost towards the Council's $334.53 million Chambers Flat Wastewater Treatment Plant which will unlock more than 20,000 new homes.

"This is just one way the Crisafulli Government is resetting the planning partnership with Councils, unlocking housing and ensuring that Queensland continues to grow ahead of 2032 and beyond."

Logan City Council Mayor Jon Raven said these Dollarbird Drive upgrades have been a long time coming.

"While they'll unlock housing, they'll also provide a vital second exit for everyone in Yarrabilba," Mayor Raven said.

"Logan is an amazing place to raise a family so I know there will be many more people moving to our city to enjoy the great lifestyle, community spirit and affordable homes we have available."
