A new community hub designed with and for the people of Logan has officially opened, bringing services, training, employment pathways and community connection together under one roof.
The Logan Hub, made possible through a $16 million joint investment by SSI and the Queensland Government, is much more than a new building. It is a welcoming community space to connect people with opportunity. The Hub brings together employment programs, vocational training, community services and practical support to help people realise their plans and goals. It also offers spaces for co-working, mentoring, workshops, training and community gatherings, creating opportunities for people to build skills, develop businesses and take their next step.
The Hub was jointly opened today by The Honourable Fiona Simpson MP, Minister for Women, Minister for Women's Economic Security, Minister for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships, and Minister for Multiculturalism and SSI CEO Violet Roumeliotis, AM.
SSI CEO Violet Roumeliotis AM:
"The bricks are in place, but the Logan Hub is still a canvas. It is somewhere you can meet a mentor, join a training program, work alongside other local businesses, attend a community event or connect with practical support, all in one welcoming space. Being led by community means continuing to listen, learn and change as the needs and aspirations of Logan evolve."
