Long Gully intercept yields $13,000 cash stash

Two eagle eyed first constables working the Bendigo divisional van overnight have seized drugs and more than $13,000 cash following an intercept in Long Gully.

The officers intercepted the car on Bennett Street after the pair were seen leaving a home in the street about 11.40pm.

A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered a quantity of cannabis, Valium and suspected methylamphetamine and cocaine.

The search also revealed a stash of cash valued in excess of $13,000 and six mobile phones.

The female driver, a 33-year-old woman from Craige, and the male passenger, a 44-year-old man of no fixed address, are currently assisting police with their enquiries.

It is expected the pair will be interviewed in relation to drug and proceeds of crime offences.
