Man Assaulted In Southbank

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in Southbank this morning.

Officers were told a woman behaving erratically, entered a supermarket on Clarendon Street about 7.15am.

It is believed she was having an altercation with people possibly known to her.

During the altercation, an uninvolved man inside the store was jabbed in the arm with a pair of scissors.

The victim, an 80-year-old Southbank man, received a graze during the incident.

The woman, who is not known to the victim, left the supermarket on foot.

She is described as Caucasian, in appearance and has short brown hair.

At the time the woman was wearing a light-coloured crop-top and pants.
