MAN Becomes Partner Of TUM Venture Labs

The start-up ecosystem at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) continues to grow. In future, commercial vehicle manufacturer MAN will support the TUM Venture Labs in identifying and promoting founders and topics. The aim is to further increase the number of scientific spin-offs and thus accelerate the transition of innovations from research to practice.

The partnership was announced during the International Motor Show (IAA) in Munich. At the "Ultimate European Startup Event" on Marienplatz, the Managing Director of TUM Venture Labs, Dr. Philipp Gerbert, said: "As one of Europe's leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, MAN is an ideal partner for our start-up teams. They can expand their network and learn from an established and very successful company."

Dr. Frederik Zohm, Chief Technology Officer at MAN Truck & Bus, said: "We have high hopes for this partnership. Networking between industrial companies, start-ups, and universities is crucial to remaining competitive in the international innovation arena. We have now set the course and look forward with great confidence and curiosity to the upcoming joint projects with TUM Venture Labs."

The TUM Venture Labs

The TUM Venture Labs are a joint initiative of TUM and UnternehmerTUM , the leading center for start-ups and innovation in Europe. They drive start-ups forward with a globally competitive funding program. Specifically geared towards important technology fields of the future, they create dynamic ecosystems of start-ups, science, investors and experienced companies. There are currently a total of 12 TUM Venture Labs for different subject areas.
