A man wanted on outstanding warrants will face court over multiple alleged break and enter offences across Sydney's north west.
In March 2026, officers commenced an investigation after a string of break and enters in Rydalmere, Melrose Park, Harris Park, and Parramatta areas between March 2026 and April 2026.
Several crime scenes were established, and police commenced an investigation into the incidents, which were believed to be linked.
Following extensive inquiries, about 2.15pm today (Wednesday 20 May 2026), police arrested a man at a home on Shortland Street, Telopea.
He was taken to Gladesville Police Station where he was charged with five outstanding warrants for 14 offences:
- Enter building/land with intent to commit indictable offence
- Possess housebreaking implements
- Destroy or damage property more than $2000 and less than or equal to $5000
- Enter prescribed premises of any person without lawful excuse
- Enter inclosed land not prescribed premises without lawful excuse (two counts)
- Break and enter house etc steal value less than or equal to $60,000 (two counts)
- Enter building/land with intent to commit indictable offence
- Aggravated break and enter dwelling etc in company steal less than or equal to $60000
- Breach of bail
- Fail to appear in accordance with bail acknowledgement
- Variation application notice after breach etc, and
- Deal with property proceeds of crime less than $100000 and less than $5000.
He was refused bail to appear at Burwood Local Court tomorrow (Thursday 21 May 2026).
Police will further alleged the man was involved in a break and enter at a shop in Lidcombe in July 2024, where items with estimated value of $2500 were stolen.
