Man Charged in Armed Robbery of Delivery Driver

Logan detectives have charged a man following the alleged armed robbery of a delivery driver in Browns Plains last month.

Around 9pm on June 15, a 25-year-old man delivering a nitrous oxide bottle to a Banksia Street address was allegedly approached by two males who exited a nearby utility.

The pair allegedly assaulted the driver before stealing several nitrous oxide canisters and leaving the scene in the utility they arrived in.

Following a detailed investigation, including CCTV review, police executed simultaneous search warrants at two properties on Creekside Crescent at Flagstone.

Officers located a number of items during the searches, including empty nitrous oxide canisters, cannabis, and mobile phones.

A 21-year-old Flagstone man has been charged with armed robbery, possessing dangerous drugs and possessing a drug utensil.

He is due to reappear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court on August 22.

Detective Acting Inspector Adam Bennett said police would continue to target violent and drug-related offending across the district.

"This was a calculated and coordinated attack on an unsuspecting delivery driver who was simply doing his job," Detective Acting Inspector Bennett said.

"Thanks to the dedication of our officers and the work of specialist units, we've been able to swiftly identify one of the alleged offenders involved and bring charges."

"To anyone engaging in this type of criminal behaviour - police will find you, and you will be held to account."

Investigations remain ongoing.
