A man has been charged with an alleged hate crime offence following a protest outside Parliament House last November.
Between 10.00am and 10.30am on Saturday 8 November 2025, approximately 50 persons conducted a static public assembly outside NSW Parliament House in Macquarie Street, Sydney.
During the public assembly, a banner was unfurled with the words 'ABOLISH THE JEWISH LOBBY' being displayed. There were two speeches made by participants of the public assembly.
An investigation into this matter was undertaken by the Security Investigation Unit, Counter Terrorist and Special Tactics Command, who sought legal advice in relation to the public assembly and content of the speeches.
Following inquiries, about 1.45pm today (Wednesday 6 May 2026), investigators attended a house South Penrith and arrested a 32-year-old man.
The man was taken to Penrith Police Station, where he was charged with an offence under Section 93ZAA (1) of the Crimes Act – publicly incite hatred on grounds of race - causing fear.
The man was granted conditional bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday 3 June 2026.
