Man dies after collision - Merrylands

A man has died following a collision in Merrylands earlier this month.

About 5.10am (Wednesday 2 September 2020), emergency services were called to the intersection of the Cumberland Highway and Merrylands Road, Merrylands, following reports of a collision between a Suzuki motorcycle and Mitsubishi Pajero hatchback.

NSW Ambulance Paramedics treated the rider of the motorcycle – a 45-year-old man – before he was taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

The 37-year-old male driver of the Mitsubishi did not suffer any injuries and was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command attended and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

On Sunday 13 September 2020, the rider died as a result of his injuries.

Officers will prepare a report for the information of the Coroner.
