Man dies after Deer Park collision

A man has died after being struck by a car in Deer Park early this morning.

The man was parked in the emergency lane of the Western Ring Road changing his tyre when he was struck by a car about 1am.

He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries however later died.

The driver, a 35-year-old Kings Park man, was not injured and stopped at the scene.

He has been arrested and is assisting investigators with their enquiries.

The Greensborough-bound lanes of the Western Ring Road are expected to be closed for several hours so motorists are urged to take an alternative route.
