Man dies after motorcycle crash last month at Albury

A man has died following a motorcycle crash in the state's south last month.

About 5.40pm on Friday 16 April 2021, emergency services were called to Driver Terrace, North Albury, after reports of a motorcycle crash.

Police believe a man was riding a motorcycle in the reserve at the rear of a property when he crashed into a tree.

The 24-year-old rider suffered critical head injuries and was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics.

He was taken to Albury Base Hospital, before being transferred to the Alfred Hospital, Melbourne.

Officers from Murray River Police District commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Earlier this week, the man was transferred back to Albury Base Hospital, where he died yesterday (Wednesday 19 May 2021).

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
