Man dies in cliff fall - Yorke Peninsula, South Australia

A man has died after he fell from a cliff at Honiton at the southern end of Yorke Peninsula this afternoon.

Just before 2pm on Saturday 4 July, police and ambulance officers were called to Clan Ranald Road at Honiton about 3kms west of the Troubridge Hill Lighthouse, after reports a man had fallen from a cliff.

On arrival, the man who was part of a fishing club, could be seen at the base of the cliff very close to the water's edge, however his condition was not known.

The Medivac Rescue helicopter was dispatched to the scene to assist, however on reaching the fallen man it was discovered he was deceased.

The body of the 45-year-old man from Willaston was retrieved by the helicopter crew.

Yorke - Mid North Police are now speaking to witnesses and preparing a report for the Coroner. There are no suspicious circumstances.
