Northern Territory Police have extradited a 27-year-old man from Western Australia in relation to an alleged sexual assault that occurred in Katherine in July 2024.
Following investigations, the man has been charged with two counts of sexual intercourse without consent.
He was remanded in custody and is due to appear before Katherine Local Court on 24 September 2026.
Detective Senior Sergeant Richard Musgrave said investigators had remained committed to pursuing the matter.
"This has been a lengthy and complex investigation, with police working across jurisdictions to locate and extradite the alleged offender."
