Man Gets 24 Years for Child Sexual Offences

On 12 February 2026, a 33-year-old man was sentenced in the Perth District Court to a total of 24 years and six months imprisonment on State and Commonwealth offences. The earliest he will be eligible for parole is in November 2041.

In May 2024, the man was charged by detectives from the Child Exploitation Operations Squad with 80 child sexual offences that occurred between 2022 and 2024, relating to six victims aged between seven months and 13 years. The charges included the offences of:

• Sexual Penetration of a Child under 13

• Indecent Dealings with a Child under 13

• Indecently Records a Child under 13

• Producing Child Exploitation Material

• Distributing Child Exploitation Material

• Possessing Child Exploitation Material

He was sentenced to 19 years and six months imprisonment on these WA State charges.

The man was sentenced to an additional five years' imprisonment on the Commonwealth charge of 'Engaged in Sexual Activity (other than sexual intercourse) with a Child Outside of Australia' which relates to an offence that occurred in New Zealand.

During this comprehensive investigation, detectives collaborated closely with their state and federal counterparts to ensure the perpetrator was identified, located, apprehended, and brought before the court.
