Man Injured - Trigg Incident

Mirrabooka Detectives are continuing to investigate an incident that occurred in Trigg on Friday, 20 May 2022, in which a man in his 20s received serious facial injuries.

About 9.30pm, two men in their 20s were travelling south along the footpath of West Coast Drive on orange rental scooters. When the scooters neared Mettams Pool, occupants in a silver Ford Falcon also travelling on West Coast Drive, threw or fired a potato at the scooters, injuring one of the riders.

It is believed the vehicle may have been travelling in convoy with a black sedan and an older white Nissan Patrol with a snorkel, bull-bar and missing rear spare tyre.

The 28-year-old victim sustained serious facial injuries, including permanently losing sight in one eye, several facial fractures and a fractured arm.

Detectives wish to speak to anyone who saw the incident, or observed anyone throwing or firing potatoes or other objects at members of the public on West Coast Drive or in the area.

Anyone with any information relating to this incident or who has mobile phone, CCTV or dash-cam vision that may assist with the investigation, is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au
