Man seriously assaulted during Hampton East aggravated burglary

Moorabbin Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for witnesses after a man was attacked during an aggravated burglary in Hampton East last month.

A male offender forced his way into the Bluff Road residence and assaulted the victim with a box cutter sometime between 6-7am on 17 September.

The victim, a 43-year-old man, was taken to hospital for treatment to a large number of cuts he received during the attack.

Police believe both parties are known to each other.

The offender is believed to be aged in his mid to late-20s, about 180cm tall with dark skin, dark eyes and dark hair with shaved sides.

He was wearing a black facemask, black hair, black Kathmandu puffer jacket with green lining and full-length sleeves, black and yellow workman's gloves and a gold watch.

Investigators are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area at the time to come forward.
