Man stabbed in Mt Gambier, South Australia

A man is in hospital following a serious assault in Mount Gambier.

Just before 5pm on Saturday 2 January, patrols and paramedics were called to a group of units at the corner of Queens Avenue and Wehl Street North, after two men who are believed to be known to each other, had an altercation.

One man sustained a stab wound to his neck and abdomen and was rushed to Mt Gambier Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

The alleged suspect was arrested by police at the scene and has been taken to hospital under police guard for a medical assessment.
