Manage your references with EndNote Online

EndNote Online, the web-based version of EndNote, is easy to use and suitable for short-term research projects. It's a great reference management tool for undergraduate students, and is available to all students including offshore Victoria University (VU) students.

Managing references

For assessments or short-term research projects requiring lots of references, use EndNote Online to help you create, store and organise your references. Managing your references will help you to reference with integrity.

Accessing EndNote Online

All VU staff and students including offshore VU staff and students can access EndNote Online which is replacing RefWorks.

  • Log in with staff/student ID and password to access EndNote Online.
  • Register to create an EndNote Online account if this is the first time that you are accessing EndNote Online.
  • Complete registration and activate registration via email.

Using EndNote Online

EndNote Online gives you the tools to create, store and organise your references:

  • 'My References' tab is for viewing all the references that you add.
  • 'Collect' tab allows you to manually add a reference.
  • 'Downloads' tab is for downloading and installing EndNote Online plug-in, so you can send references from Google Scholar to EndNote Online.
  • 'Direct Export', available when linking your EndNote Online account to your Web of Science account, allows you to export references from Web of Science to EndNote Online.
  • 'Insert Citations' is for adding citations from EndNote Online while you are writing.
