Marine Rescue in Darwin Harbour

Northern Territory Police responded to a call for help after a vessel became stuck due to wild seas in Darwin Harbour yesterday morning.

Water Police members launched at East Arm and located the vessel washed up into the mangroves due to rough seas near Darwin Port facility.

The vessel was safely recovered and towed out of the area.

Senior Sergeant Jak Evans said "This is a friendly reminder to Territorians, that the weather conditions are not ideal at the moment.

"People should reconsider any plans to be out on the water until the weather clears up."
