Maths teacher Eddie Woo to headline Sydney Writers Festival on The Concourse
Sydney maths teacher and international YouTube sensation Eddie Woo will headline The Sydney Writers' Festival on The Concourse this year.
Held from 29 April to 5 May, the program will also feature an exciting line-up of author talks, the outdoor Lawn Library and children's story time.
"One of our Sydney Writers' Festival events is already booked out, which just demonstrates how popular the event has become," Willoughby City Mayor Gail Giles-Gidney said.

Author and Sydney high school teacher Eddie Woo became Australia's most unlikely celebrity after his high-energy maths classes made his YouTube channel, 'Wootube', a viral sensation. Whether he's explaining the curve of a rainbow or why left-handed people aren't extinct, every subject in Woo's Wonderful World of Maths is vitalised by Eddie's enthusiasm, humour and heart. Join Local Hero of the Year and one of the Global Teacher Prize's top ten teachers in 2018, for a special event about all things maths.

Join teacher and author of The Dressmaker, Rosalie Ham, as she discusses her new novel about love, justice and irrigation. A darkly satirical tale about the residents of a small country town battling with the elements and one another, The Year of the Farmer is Rosalie at her best – unsentimental and wildly entertaining. This striking story is set in country NSW and told by an author with a keen understanding of life on the land.
