City of Swan animal registration renewals will soon be in the post - and they are due to be paid by October 31.

You can choose to register your furry friend for their lifetime so you never have to worry about renewing again.

In Western Australia, all dogs over the age of three months and all cats over the age of six months must be registered with their local government. To avoid a possible infringement for an unregistered animal, please renew by the due date.

The State Government sets the fees associated with animal registration and local governments are responsible for administering them.

There are also legislative requirements for cats and dogs related to microchipping and sterilisation.

These details are required to process your animal's registration, so please ensure they are included when you renew prior to making payment.

Having your furry friend go missing can be a stressful experience. Ensuring your pet is registered increases the chance of being reunited if the unexpected happens.

It also provides valuable information regarding the local pet population and helps the City plan for animal facilities, such as exercise areas.

The quickest and easiest way to renew is to pay your animal registration renewal online, which only takes a matter of minutes.

You can also make in-person payments at any City of Swan library (credit card/eftpos only), the City's administration building or an Australia Post office located within the City's boundaries.

Payments can also be accepted by mail to PO Box 196 Midland WA 6936 or by email at [email protected].
