Methylamphetamine and dangerous driving charges, Clontarf

Police have charged a man after he allegedly drove a stolen motorcycle dangerously while in possession of methylamphetamine in North Brisbane yesterday (June 3).

Around 9am police observed a black Suzuki motorcycle, allegedly with cloned number plates, waiting at a red traffic light on Sandgate Road, Boondall.

Police followed the motorcycle before it pulled into a Clontarf driveway.

The male rider, noticing police, then allegedly pulled out of the driveway, loosing control of his motorcycle and colliding with a truck park in the front yard of a property on the opposite side of the road.

It will be alleged a subsequent search of the man located around 40 grams of methylamphetamine and other stolen property.

A 39-year-old Indooroopilly man has been charged with 10 offences including unlawful use of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a vehicle while adversely affected by a drug, driving without a license (SPER suspension), possession of a dangerous drug, obstructing police and other drug related offences.

He was denied police bail and is due to appear in Redcliffe Magistrates Court today.

The motorcycle was allegedly stolen from a Kitchener Street, Coorparoo home on May 20.
