Missing Leitchville man Michael Allitt

Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate missing man Michael Allitt.

The 49-year-old was last seen at a Gunbower-Pyramid Road property in Gunbower about 4am on 22 February.

Michael was driving a ute when he lost control and drove into Mount Hope Creek.

Police have been told Michael exited the vehicle and was last seen swimming in an unknown direction.

Police Search and Rescue, Airwing and SES volunteers continue to search the area today and hope he has found refuge on nearby land.

Michael is described as 186cm tall, with a solid build, brown hair and brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing a t-shirt, grey Adidas track pants and Blundstone boots.

Investigators have released an image of Michael in the hope that someone may be able to provide information on his current whereabouts.

Anyone who sees Michael is urged to contact Echuca Police Station on 5483 1500.
