As part of Missing Persons Week 2022, police are reappealing for information from the public to locate a man missing from Sydney's east since last year.
Robert 'Bob' Duncan, aged 80, was last captured on CCTV about 9.40pm on Monday 12 April 2021 outside a licensed premises on the corner of Flinders Street and Oxford Street at Darlinghurst.
He was reported missing to police on Monday 26 April 2021, and officers from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command commenced an investigation into his whereabouts.
Despite extensive inquiries and multiple public appeals for assistance by investigators, Mr Duncan has not been located or heard from since.
As inquiries into his disappearance continue, police are renewing their appeal to the community to come forward with any information that may assist detectives with their ongoing investigations.
Eastern Beaches Police Area Command Crime Manager, Detective Inspector Rodney Pistola, said police have conducted numerous canvasses and other investigative activity across Sydney without luck.
"In our attempts to locate Bob we have made enquiries with domestic and international ports and visited Northern NSW and Queensland where we know he once lived and worked," Det Insp Pistola said.
"Police have also conducted an extensive search of Centennial Park and reviewed hours of CCTV from Sydney's public transport network which he often utilised to get around.
"His disappearance was highly unusual as he lived a very routine life and didn't usually venture beyond Sydney's east – particularly Taylor Square – where he would sometimes ask for money from the public.
"He is a gifted Leatherman who once made and sold bags and belts for a living, but, more importantly, a father of two sons who don't know what happened to their dad," Det Insp Pistola said.
He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 165cm tall, of slim build, with long white hair and a white beard. He was last seen wearing a dark coloured leather jacket.
Missing Persons Week is an annual national campaign to raise awareness of the issues and impacts surrounding missing persons and runs between Sunday 31 July and Saturday 6 August 2022.
