The Pilbeam Theatre's 2022 Morning Melodies season kicks off in February with a tribute to the harmony-singing sisters of the boogie woogie and swing eras, the Andrews Sisters.

The Andrews Sisters were the most successful female vocal group of the Second World War years.

Their exuberant, close harmony styles and intricate vocal arrangements entertained the troops and the public throughout the darkest days of World War Two.

February's Morning Melodies recreates the era with three sassy divas, backed by the accomplished and lively Boogie Beat Horns.

Together the khaki-clad trio will bring back the gorgeous 3-part harmony and toe-tapping tunes of the Andrews Sisters with such hits as Boogie-Woogie Bugle Boy, Rum and Coca Cola and Don't Sit Under The Apple Tree as well as big band hits of the era like Chattanooga Choo Choo and more!

Morning Melodies is presented by Rockhampton Regional Council and Bolsover Radiology. The show will be performed on Monday 21 February at 11am, with a free morning tea provided by Brumby's Allenstown / Gracemere / Parkhurst from 10am.
