Murrindindi Shire Council celebrated six new Australian Citizens on Tuesday 29 July at an official Citizenship Ceremony held at the Alexandra Council Chamber.
Lixing Mao, Juan Camilo Garces Londono, Ma Luisa Perote Lerio, Lei Yang, Sofia Huong Rowan and Florine Benedicte France Pirone have pledged their loyalty to Australia, its people, and its democratic beliefs, and to uphold and obey the laws of Australia and respect the rights and liberties of its people.
In attendance were guests including Murrindindi Shire Council Mayor Damien Gallagher, Deputy Mayor Anita Carr, Acting CEO of Murrindindi Shire Council Andrew Paxton, Yvonne Miller from Local Early Education Action Group, Maria Bristowe a health services advocate, Lucy Collings from Alexandra Sprouts Club and Alexandra and District Kindergarten, and Ayden Embling from Alexandra and District Traders and Tourism Association, Alexandra Pro Rodeo and Alexandra CFA.
Murrindindi Shire Council extends its warmest congratulations to all the conferees and wishes them all the best in their new journey as Australian Citizens.
Council will host one more Citizenship Ceremony in 2025.
