Music in Sticks to host live music event in Woodend

A new live music event known as 'The Gig' will take place in Woodend on Saturday 21 May.

Hosted by Macedon Ranges Shire Council's Music in the Sticks crew, and open to all ages, the event will feature four local bands including Sack of Flour, Junkyard Wizards, The Seventh Circle and Miles Brennan.

Director Community, Ms Maria Weiss encouraged young people to make the most of the Music in the Sticks event.

"Young people who engage with our Youth Services programs have told us how isolated they have been feeling."

"Events such as 'The Gig' reinvigorate our community spaces and promote the fun of live events, all while encouraging young people to socialise and reconnect with others in a safe environment." Ms Weiss said.

The Music in the Sticks program has been running for over 15 years providing valuable music and event industry skills and experience to young people aged 12 to 25. The Music in the Sticks crew are responsible for facilitating live music and cultural events, such as 'The Gig' around the Macedon Ranges.
