Join in the celebrations this Neighbourhood House Week from Monday 11 May to Sunday 17 May.
Nillumbik's five unique Neighbourhood Houses are joining together for a week of fun-filled activities, learning and connection.
All community members are invited to take part, try something new and meet others in their local area.
This year's theme is "Your place to connect", highlighting how Neighbourhood Houses are an essential part of the Nillumbik community, offering free and affordable programs and a friendly place to belong.
Mayor Naomi Joiner said Neighbourhood House Week is an opportunity to recognise the important contribution these spaces make to the community.
"Our Neighbourhood Houses are places where people form friendships, share skills and feel welcomed and supported," said Cr Joiner.
"They provide people with a home for expressing and developing their interests"
"Neighbourhood House Week is a great chance to celebrate this work and encourage more people to discover what's available in Nillumbik."
From workshops to social activities, the week offers something for everyone. Free or low-cost activities include:
- a community lunch at Allwood Neighbourhood House
- Devonshire tea at Panton Hill
- a range of "come and try" sessions at Diamond Creek, including glee club singing, and games and cuppa.
Bookings for activities are now open, and places may be limited.
