- New Creative Workplaces website designed to support Australia's arts and culture sector
- Creative Australia committed to improving workplace standards and conditions
- Creative Workplaces initiative responds to sector-wide call for change
Western Australian creatives are now able to find clear information about their rights and obligations thanks to a new national platform from Creative Australia.
Artists, arts workers, and creative organisations can now use the Creative Workplaces website - creativeworkplaces.gov.au - as a central hub of information on topics such as pay, working conditions, and work health and safety, including resources on bullying, discrimination and harassment.
Developed for individuals and organisations working across all art forms, the site features practical examples of workplace issues specific to the creative industries, with referral information on pay, safety and respect.
Creative Workplaces was established under the National Cultural Policy - Revive, through Creative Australia, to promote fair, safe and inclusive workplace practices across the arts and cultural sector.
The initiative responds to sector-wide concerns relating to pay, job security, and workplace safety. Many working in the industry have faced barriers when seeking reliable workplace advice and support.
Launched by the Australian Government in collaboration with State and Territory Governments, the new Creative Workplaces website reflects a shared national commitment to strengthening workplace standards and improving conditions for all who work in Australia's creative industries.
As stated by Creative Industries Minister Simone McGurk:
"Through Creative Australia, Western Australia has a strategic priority to strengthen the creative, cultural and arts sector.
"Creative Australia puts a spotlight on the driver of creativity - people - on supporting artists, cultural workers and creative practitioners to do what they do best and to help more Western Australians access creative opportunities.
"I am pleased to support the Australian Government, through Creative Workplaces, in prioritising fair, safe and respectful workplaces across our nation."
