New footpath for Camp Hill Road in Somers

MPSLogo_News.jpg

We are building a new footpath in Somers along the western side of Camp Hill Road from The Boulevard to Sandy Point Road.

The path will provide a link from the Somers township to the existing Western Port Bay Trail footpath along Sandy Point Road.

In March 2022, we will be starting works on the southern part of the project: the section from The Boulevard to the access road at R.W. Stone Reserve. Construction is expected to be completed by June 2022.

Later in 2022, we will then start on the northern works: the section from R.W. Stone Reserve access road to Sandy Point Road. As we continue to plan and design this section, we will keep the community informed on the progress.

The Shire apologises for any inconvenience throughout the construction phase.

Quote attributable to Mayor Councillor Anthony Marsh:

"The new path will make walking and riding around Somers safer and more accessible and connect the Somers township to the Western Port Bay Trail."
