New offers to put WA holidays on horizon for locals

  • WA travel destinations to feature in special edition of RAC's Horizons magazine
  • Partnership marks next phase of 'Wander out Yonder' intrastate campaign
  • Special tourism magazine to promote local destinations and experiences to over a third of WA's population
  • The State's exciting holiday experiences will be on show to more than 900,000 RAC members in a special Western Australian travel edition of RAC's Horizons magazine.

The partnership between the State Government, through Tourism WA, Tourism Australia and RAC is part of the 'Wander out Yonder' intrastate campaign, providing further encouragement for Western Australians to explore their home State.

The special publication will highlight the amazing range of tourism experiences on offer throughout Western Australia.

From epic road trips across the Golden Outback, to heading up north to be immersed in the marine wonders of the Coral Coast or hiking through the ancient landscapes of the Kimberley and the Pilbara - the options are boundless.

The magazine will also include a range of WA travel offers as well as special rates at RAC Parks and Resorts.

Eligible tourism operators will be able to purchase advertising space at significantly reduced rates, with more information available on the Tourism WA corporate website.

The magazine will be issued in mid-September and will also be supported through RAC's digital channels, with all campaign activity to run from September to October.

Other initiatives include the chance for adventure enthusiasts to win a share of $20,000 in Anaconda outdoor camping gear through a Hit92.9 radio competition in August and September, and accommodation deals with hospitality hotel group Accor.

These offers join a number of recently announced co-operative marketing partnerships with Top Parks, Britz Australia and Sightseeing Pass Australia that form part of the intrastate campaign.

As stated by Tourism Minister Paul Papalia:

"The special edition of RAC's member magazine - dedicated entirely to WA travel - will reach more than a third of the State's population, providing terrific promotion for our tourism sector as we encourage Western Australians to Wander out Yonder.

"It's a real coup to secure this first-of-its-kind partnership to promote amazing local holiday experiences and enticing travel deals from tourism operators right across the State.

"With unique and compelling offers that highlight some of the State's must-see holiday destinations, these latest offers are even more reason for locals to discover more about their own backyard and have an incredible holiday at home this year."
