New Platform For Community To Connect With Council

Campaspe Shire Council is making it easier for residents to have their say on local projects and decisions with the launch of Campaspe Connect, a new online community engagement platform.

Campaspe Connect brings Council's community engagement activities together in one place, providing residents with a simple and convenient way to learn about projects, share feedback and stay informed about decisions that shape their community.

The current projects on the platform include the 2027/28 Budget Consultation, the Jaycee Park (Kyabram) Play Space Concept Design Consultation, and the Potts Village Green Play Space Renewal Project in Tongala.

The interactive platform allows users to view current and upcoming consultations, complete surveys, contribute ideas, follow project updates and register to receive notifications about topics that matter to them.

Campaspe Shire Mayor Cr Jessica Mitchell said Campaspe Connect would help strengthen engagement between Council and the community.

"Community input plays an important role in helping Council make informed decisions," Cr Mitchell said.

"Campaspe Connect provides an easy and accessible way for residents to learn about local projects and opportunities, share their views and see how their feedback contributes to future planning and decision-making.

"We know people lead busy lives and can't always attend meetings or information sessions. This platform gives residents the flexibility to participate when and where it suits them."

Campaspe Connect has been designed to improve access to community engagement opportunities and provide greater transparency about Council projects and initiatives. Through the platform, residents can follow the progress of projects from consultation through to decision-making and outcomes.

While Campaspe Connect will become Council's primary online engagement platform, Council will continue to provide a range of other ways for people to participate, recognising that not everyone wishes to engage online.

"We want to make it as easy as possible for people to contribute ideas and feedback on the projects and services that affect their daily lives. Campaspe Connect provides a central place for those conversations and helps ensure community voices are heard throughout the decision-making process," Cr Mitchell said.
