New podcast showcases Queensland Police Service's Argos unit

A new podcast series and companion to "The Children in the Pictures" documentary has been released today, showcasing the team of international experts working within Argos and the global cases they've helped crack in their pursuit to track down offenders and rescue children from harm in Australian and around the world.

Argos is the Queensland Police Service's specialist unit investigating online child exploitation. Everyday these investigators, including officers dedicated to covert and protracted investigations and victim identification analysts, are online working with law enforcement nationally and internationally to prevent, disrupt and investigate child sexual abuse.

This 8 part series will take you behind the scenes of the investigations and you'll meet some of the investigators who have dedicated their lives to preventing, disrupting and investigating child sexual abuse.

The podcast features Queensland Police Detective Inspector Jon Rouse, who has investigated crimes against children for 25 years and Argos' victim identification specialists. This is a Brisbane-based team of international experts in digital media analysis who play a crucial role in the identification of victims across the globe.

The series will provide listeners with an understanding of some of the trials and tribulations this incredible team face every day, with an insight into the global dark web criminal organisations and what we can all do to keep our children safe online.

We hope this podcast encourages parents and caregivers to have important conversations with their children about online risks, how to stay safe online and the dangers of having online 'friends' they have never met face-to-face.
