Bayside Council Libraries and the Nicole and Julie Fitzsimons Foundation have launched a new scholarship to support young people in Bayside pursuing further study in library science, history, education or literature.
The inaugural Julie Fitzsimons Library & History Scholarship provides a $1,500 grant to an eligible Year 12 or Undergraduate student living in Bayside.
Named in honour of Julie Fitzsimons, a former library staff member and local historian, the scholarship recognises her enduring love of books, history and learning. It will be awarded each year to support a young person following a similar path.
Applicants must be undertaking, or planning to undertake, tertiary study in library science, history, education or literature. The successful applicant will be selected by Foundation and Council staff and announced at Rockdale Library in the first week of October.
Applications close 15 September 2026.
