Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery has today revealed Shorehaven Primary School as the official name for the newest primary school located in Alkimos.
The local community was consulted on three potential names with Shorehaven Primary School being the popular choice.
The new school is currently under construction and is on track to open at the start of the 2022 school year.
When complete, the school will have permanent capacity for 650 students and will ease pressure on enrolments at surrounding primary schools in Perth's growing northern corridor.
The school is named after its location on Shorehaven Boulevard.
It is planned to be one of the bigger primary schools in Perth and will feature two double-storey teaching blocks among its buildings.
As stated by Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery:
"The naming of Shorehaven Primary School is yet another exciting step towards the opening of this wonderful new school.
"I know young families will look forward to coming together in this friendly and safe learning environment."
As stated by Butler MLA John Quigley:
"Residents in Alkimos and Eglinton have been crying out for a new primary school and Shorehaven Primary School will be a wonderful facility which will serve our community well into the future.
"I am thrilled to see this nearing completion and being able to deliver top-class public education to families in the area."
