New Site Identified For Citys Accredited Services

A new location has been identified for services currently delivered through the City's Moore Street Accredited Services site, with operations to move to 158 Royal Street, East Perth, from Monday, 22 June.

A new location has been identified for services currently delivered through the City's Moore Street Accredited Services site, with operations to move to 158 Royal Street, East Perth, from Monday, 22 June.

The site will operate as City of Perth Accredited Services.

As part of the State Government's Royal Perth Hospital Emergency Department Expansion Project, Moore Street will see increased hospital-related traffic and will no longer be suitable for the Accredited Services site.

Through Accredited Services, the City partners with a range of organisations to support people experiencing homelessness and hardship by providing access to meals, clothing, healthcare services and essential amenities.

Moore Street will close following services on Sunday, 21 June and the Royal Street site will open on Monday, 22 June.

Located approximately 500 metres from the current Moore Street site, the new location is close to public transport.

Lord Mayor Bruce Reynolds said the City had worked hard to ensure continuity of services during the transition.

"These services provide vital support to some of the most vulnerable members of our community, and our priority is to ensure people can continue accessing that support with as little disruption as possible," he said.

"While the relocation is necessary to accommodate the Royal Perth Hospital Expansion Project, we have worked closely with the State Government to identify a suitable nearby location and support a smooth transition for both service providers and users of the service."

Health Infrastructure Minister John Carey said the construction of a new Emergency Department for Royal Perth Hospital was being delivered in careful consultation with stakeholders, including the City of Perth and local homelessness services.

"Our Government worked with the City and these important services to find a nearby location that is well-serviced and close to public transport," Mr Carey said.

"This will ensure construction of this vital piece of health infrastructure can progress with minimal disruption to the City's Accredited Services."

The City will continue working closely with service providers and the State Government throughout the transition.
