City of Darwin is inviting nominations for the 2025 Lord Mayoral Awards, celebrating the people and community groups driving positive change in accessibility, inclusion and advocacy across the municipality.
Now in its fifth year, the awards continue to shine a light on those who are helping make Darwin a more inclusive and welcoming city for people with a disability.
City of Darwin has set a bold vision for the future, to be a capital city where inclusivity shapes every space, service and opportunity, building a community where people of all abilities are supported to participate, connect and thrive.
The Lord Mayoral Awards form an important part of this vision, recognising people and groups who are driving positive change, reducing barriers and helping make the city more inclusive and accessible.
"This year we're proud to open the awards to include advocates and teams because inclusion is something we all have a role in supporting, it's something we build together," said Lord Mayor, Peter Styles.
"These awards honour the people and groups who are breaking down barriers and highlighting the shared responsibility we all have to create a city where everyone can belong," he added.
Award recipients will be announced on Wednesday 3 December during the DiversAbility Fun Day, held to celebrate International Day of People with Disability.
The ceremony will take place from 11:00 am to 11:30 am at CDU Stadium, 235 Abala Road, Marrara, with activities continuing until 2:00 pm.
