Northbridge assault arrest

Perth Detectives have charged a crowd controller as a result of their investigation into an incident at a licensed premises on Sunday, 28 April 2019.

The incident occurred about 1.15am at a bar located on James Street in Northbridge. It is alleged the 48-year-old crowd controller assaulted a 19-year-old male patron of the bar.

It is alleged as a result of the assault, the victim was conveyed to Royal Perth Hospital for medical treatment of several fractures to the lower jaw, a deep laceration under his chin and eight chipped teeth. He remains in hospital and requires additional surgery for his injuries.

The 48-year-old man from Ballajura has been charged with Grievous Bodily Harm and is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court on 14 May 2019.
