NSW Ambulance stations across metropolitan and regional NSW opened their doors to the community today, welcoming hundreds of visitors as part of NSW Ambulance Appreciation Day.
Community members were given a rare behind-the-scenes look at the service at open days held at stations in Blacktown, Coffs Harbour, Camden, Fairy Meadow, Mudgee, Hamlyn Terrace, Central Sydney and Dungog.
Visitors took part in station tours and CPR demonstrations, enjoyed interactive displays and had the chance to look inside the service's state-of-the-art vehicles.
The events also provided an opportunity for local communities to show their appreciation for NSW Ambulance staff and learn more about the vital role they play in keeping their communities safe.
As part of the day, more than 150 Certificates of Appreciation were announced for NSW Ambulance staff who have gone above and beyond in their roles, recognising outstanding service, professionalism and dedication to the people of NSW.
NSW Ambulance Interim Chief Executive Clare Beech joined staff at Blacktown Ambulance Station, with NSW Ambulance's four Control Centres also hosting Appreciation Day events for friends and family of NSW Ambulance staff, as well as the State Operations Centre hosting an event for staff.
