NSW Police Hunt for Man Freed from Sydney's SE Jail

A search is underway for a man who was released from a correctional facility in Sydney's south-east.

Corey Hastings, aged 30, was last seen leaving the facility on Anzac Parade, Matraville, about 1pm today (Thursday 7 March 2024).

Police from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command are conducting an extensive search and inquiries to locate him.

Following inquiries, police believe he was last seen at a shopping centre in Eastgardens just before 3pm.

Hastings is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 192cm tall, with a heavy build and red/auburn hair.

He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt with stripes.

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate Hastings; it's believed he may be travelling by public transport.

Members of the public who see him are urged not to approach but contact Triple Zero (000) immediately.
