NSW police vehicle involved in crash

Emergency services are currently at the scene of a two-vehicle crash involving a police car in Broken Hill, NSW Police say.

Just before 10.30am (Monday 3 September 2018), two officers from Barrier Police District were responding to an urgent job in the area, when their police vehicle and a car collided on Wolfram Street.

The police car rolled twice ending on its side.

While emergency services work to free the female Leading Senior Constable and male Constable, who remain trapped in the vehicle, the pair are believed to have suffered minor injuries.

The female driver of the second vehicle was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Broken Hill Base Hospital with minor injuries.

Chloride Street and Wolfram Street are closed and will remain closed for a number of hours. Motorists are urged to avoid the area and check www.livetraffic.com.au for updated information.

A crime scene has been established and police are urging anyone with information about this incident to contact Crime Stoppers.
