There were 626 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in the Northern Territory in the 24 hours to 8pm on 26 January 2022. Of these, 442 were positive cases from a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT).
Following the submission of further RAT results, we have also amended the case number for the 24 hour reporting period to 8pm on January 25 to 778.
The number of active cases in the NT is now approximately 3,700.

There are currently 95 patients in hospital, with 15 patients requiring oxygen. There are four patients in ICU.
1,672 COVID-19 PCR tests were processed across the NT yesterday.
Lockdown extended for Milikapiti for a further 72 hours
The lockdown in Milikapiti has been extended for 72 hours until 2pm on Sunday, 30 January to prevent further spread of COVID-19 in the community. The total number of cases recorded to date in Milikapiti is 84.
During a lockdown, residents must stay at home and are only permitted to leave for the following four reasons:
Medical treatment, including COVID testing and vaccinationFor essential goods and services, like groceries, medications or power tokens. Only one household member should visit the store, once per dayFor one hour of outdoor exercise a day within 5 km from your home with one other person or people from your houseTo provide care and support to a family member or person who cannot support themselves, or in the case of an emergency, including escaping harm from domestic and family violence.
Public health measures
To slow the spread of COVID-19 in our community and reduce the rate of transmission the following public health measures are in place across the NT:A Territory-wide indoor mask mandateThe Territory Vaccine Pass system.A lockdown is in place in Gunyangara, Utopia Homelands and Wurrumiyanga until Saturday 29 January and in Galiwin'ku until Monday 31 January.A lockout is in place in Alice Springs, Amoonguna, Yuendumu and Yuelamu until Sunday 30 January.
COVID-19 testing
Everyone should get tested for COVID-19 if showing symptoms. A number of NT Rapid Antigen Testing and Distribution Points here have been established.
Individuals can collect RATs for free from NT distribution centres located in Darwin, Katherine, Nhulunbuy, Alice Springs and Tennant Creek.
