The Organization of American States (OAS), in collaboration with the Agency for Electronic Government and Information and Knowledge Society (AGESIC), will hold the 11th edition of the Cybersecurity Symposium on October 22 and 23 in Montevideo, Uruguay—the hemisphere's most prominent event on this topic.
Under the theme "Smart Resilience: Building a Cyber Ecosystem that Evolves and Adapts", the symposium will bring together leaders, experts, and public policy decision-makers in cybersecurity from across the region to share experiences, promote cooperation, and strengthen capacities to face the digital challenges of the future.
Featured participants include the Deputy Secretary of the Presidency of the Republic of Uruguay, Jorge Díaz; the Executive Director of AGESIC, Daniel Mordecki; the Cybersecurity Directors from 20 OAS Member States; and the OAS/CICTE Acting Executive Secretary, Guillermo Moncayo.
On October 23, a full day will be dedicated to RICET – Regional Initiative for Cybersecurity Education and Training, a collaborative effort to strengthen the foundations of cybersecurity education, professional training, and workforce development across the Americas.
The event will be livestreamed here.
The inaugural session of the symposium will take place on Wednesday, October 22 at 09:00 (local time) at the Hotel Dazzler by Wyndham Montevideo.
