The Organization of American States (OAS) will hold the Second Inter-American Mental Health Week from October 5 to 9, under the theme "From Commitment to Action - Advancing Mental Health Through Intersectoral Action in the Americas."
This initiative reaffirms the commitment of member states to promoting mental health and well-being in the Americas by advancing comprehensive, intersectoral responses to the region's mental health challenges.
The Week is part of the efforts of the Inter-American Working Group on Mental Health to strengthen regional coordination and cooperation in this area. The OAS Department of Access to Rights and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) jointly serve as the Working Group's Technical Secretariat.
The program will include a session of the OAS Permanent Council on Wednesday 7, webinars, and other activities aimed at sharing experiences and building capacity, with the participation of representatives of member states, international organizations, experts, and other relevant stakeholders.
