Officer charged - North West Metropolitan Region 17 November

An off-duty police officer has been charged with drink-driving.

Officers attached to Traffic and Highway Patrol Command were conducting stationary speed enforcement duties on the M2 at Baulkham Hills, when they stopped a Kia just before 5am today (Friday 17 November 2023).

The driver, a 42-year-old man, was subjected to a roadside breath test, returning a positive result.

He was arrested and taken to Castle Hill Police Station where he was submitted to a breath analysis, returning an alleged reading of 0.085.

The man – a senior constable attached to a command in the South West Metropolitan Region – was issued a court attendance notice for drive with middle range PCA.

He is due to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday 13 December 2023.

The man was also issued an infringement for exceed speed and his licence was suspended.

His employment status is currently under review.
