The Moreton District Domestic and Family Violence and Vulnerable Persons Unit (DFV and VPU) Serious Crime Investigation Team (SCIT) have charged a man, who is a known associate of an outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG), with significant domestic violence (DV) offences.

This month a number of previous incidents were reported to police by a woman.

SCIT detectives investigated various reports of serious DV incidents allegedly committed during a relationship between the woman and a man throughout 2019 and 2020.

Specialist police arrested a man at a North Lakes address on June 13.

A 32-year-old North Lakes man has been charged with two counts of grievous bodily harm (DV) and common assault (DV), and one count each of deprivation of liberty (DV), rape (DV), strangulation (DV), going armed as to cause fear (DV), threatening violence - discharge of firearms (DV), threatening violence (DV), unlawful stalking (DV) and dangerous operation of a vehicle.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to next appear at Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on July 21.

Police also executed a search warrant at the North Lakes home on June 13 where they allegedly located drug paraphernalia, electronic devices and weapons including a machete and a baseball bat.

Those items have been seized for forensic examination.

Moreton district Detective Inspector Phil Hurst said the specialist SCIT were established for investigations like this one.

"SCIT detectives identify and work to identify high risk and repeat DFV offenders to bring them before the courts to limit further offending," Detective Inspector Hurst said.

"We're focused on keeping victim-survivors safe, holding perpetrators to account and strengthening our response to DFV.
